The Little Things Are the Big Things
This morning, as I sat with my coffee, I found myself thinking about time.
We spend so much of life looking ahead. We make plans for next week, next year, and someday. We tell ourselves we’ll slow down when life isn’t so busy.
But the truth is, none of us knows how much time we have.
And maybe that’s why the little things matter so much.
A warm cup of coffee. A phone call from someone you love. Sitting around the table together. A beautiful sunset. An unexpected laugh. A hug that lasts a little longer. Hearing the voice of someone who matters to you.
These moments can feel ordinary while we’re living them, but someday they may become the memories we treasure most.
We spend so much time chasing the next big thing that sometimes we forget that life is happening right now.
So call your people. Say “I love you.” Take the picture — and sometimes put the phone down and simply enjoy the moment. Give people their flowers while they are still here to receive them.
And give yourself grace for the time that has already passed. We can’t go back, but we can choose to be more present today.
So drink the coffee. Watch the sunset. Laugh a little louder. Stay a little longer. Thank God for another day.
Because maybe the secret to a beautiful life isn’t having more.
Maybe it’s appreciating what we already have.
