Along the Way: Meet Shá Veasley

Some friendships find their way back to us.

Shá and I have known each other since high school. Back then, we were simply two young women standing at the beginning of our lives, with no idea where the years ahead would take us.

After high school, life moved us in different directions, and we eventually lost touch. Years passed, seasons changed, and we each experienced our own journeys. But sometimes God has a way of bringing people back into our lives at just the right time.

Years later, Shá and I reconnected.

What makes that reconnection especially meaningful to me now is seeing how much life has shaped both of us. We aren't the same young women we were in that graduation photo. We've grown, experienced challenges, discovered new parts of ourselves, and found ways to use what we've walked through to encourage others.

Shá's journey has led her to become a Christian women's empowerment author with a deeply personal mission.

Having grown up fatherless, she understands firsthand the emotional wounds, generational patterns, and inherited beliefs that can shape a woman's identity. Through her own healing and faith, she began confronting those patterns and rebuilding her identity around God's truth.

Today, she's turning those experiences into something that can help other women.

Through her Women They Lied to Us series, along with books for younger readers, workbooks, and journals, Shá is creating resources for women and girls who are ready to confront unhealthy patterns, understand their worth, heal, and move forward with a stronger sense of who they are.

What I appreciate most is that Shá isn't writing from a place of having simply studied these things. She's writing from a life that has required her to walk through them herself.

And I'm grateful that, after all these years, I've been given the opportunity to know her again—not only as the girl I knew in high school, but as the woman she has become.

Same friendship, new chapter. After high school, life took us in different directions, but years later, God brought us back together. Now we get to encourage one another as we each step into new seasons, pursue our passions, and see where God leads us next.

My writing is rooted in lived experience, biblical truth, and my own journey of healing from the wounds of growing up fatherless. Through my Women They Lied to Us series, workbooks, journals, and books for young readers, I encourage women and girls to embrace who God created them to be and move forward with greater healing, purpose, and freedom.

Healing starts with truth—and I believe we don’t have to walk that journey alone.
